About Strong in Europe

Independent reviews and buying guides for home-gym and powerlifting equipment, written for people buying it in Europe.

Why this site exists

Most English-language home-gym coverage is written for American buyers. The recommendations are often good and frequently irrelevant: the product does not ship here, or it ships at a price that stops making sense once freight, VAT and customs are added. The useful question is not "what is the best power rack" but "what is the best power rack I can actually buy in Europe at a sensible delivered price".

So everything here is written from that angle — European availability, delivered cost, EU versus UK sellers after Brexit, and which European makers are worth knowing about.

Who writes it

nb — Powerlifter and home-gym owner

I have been lifting in some shape or form since 2012 and ended up labeling myself a powerlifter. While I have never been the strongest person in our gym - and here that is not a figure of speech - two nationally competitive lifters train in the gym I built and maintain, so the bars and racks in it regularly see 250-300kg rather than the loads a home setup usually meets. Everything reviewed on this site is equipment I bought and own, here in Europe, at European prices and with European shipping.

nb is a pen name. The legal details behind this site are on the imprint page.

How reviews are done

Only equipment that has been bought and trained with gets a score. Everything else appears with its specifications and no score. The full method — what gets measured, with what, and over how long — is on thehow we test page.

How it makes money

Affiliate links, disclosed on every page that carries them and explained in full on the affiliate disclosurepage. No sponsored reviews, no paid placements, and no retailer sees a review before it is published.
